Membership Requirements
To become a member of the LPNC you must be a North Carolina resident, not registered to vote with any other political party (you can be registered unaffiliated…or not registered at all), and fulfill any one of these requirements. One is sufficient; more than one is better.
1. Register to vote as a Libertarian. If you’re already a registered Libertarian voter, congratulations. You’re a member of the LPNC. If you’re not sure, check your registration here. But please fill out our membership form below. And consider becoming a dues-paying member of the LPNC.
2. Pay dues to the LPNC. State dues are defined as any one-time or recurring donation totaling $25 or more in a calendar year for any purpose to the LPNC or any of our affiliate parties.
3. Pay dues to the national Libertarian Party. If you already do so, please consider doing the same for the LPNC.
4. Maintaining current membership dues in a recognized affiliate of the LPNC.
5. Sign a NIOF statement. Simply check the box next to this statement, “I certify that I do not advocate the initiation of force to achieve social or political goals” in the sign-up form below.

2026 Convention Theme Contest
The Convention Theme Contest by the Libertarian Party of North Carolina is an engaging opportunity for supporters to have a direct impact on selecting the theme for the 2026 convention. Participants are encouraged to donate towards their preferred theme, and the theme with the highest donation total by December 7, 2025, will be declared the winner.
This contest not only empowers individuals to support a theme they resonate with but also helps in raising necessary funds for the party’s activities. Each donation makes a significant difference, enabling the favorite theme to emerge victorious.
